One of the best bars in the city. Consistently awesome music every night of the week, which is a breath of fresh air from most other places. The DJs are always extremely talented and the beer selection is one of the better ones in the Southside. Friendly/attractive crowd as well. Highly recommended!

the selection remains unmatched by most bars nearby. the bars nearby that do match the selection lack in atmosphere. one thing they have in common however is the smoke. i would recommend and rerecommend this place to anyone looking for a tasty brew while enjoying a tasteful environment

There are other bars with a larger total selection of beer, but I really enjoy Zythos. The selection is quite nice, including a few bottles I hadn't seen elsewhere in Pittsburgh. In addition, they have a nice little selection of scotch and other premium spirits. And best of all, I love the atmosphere & music. This bar would fit nicely in E.Village or LES.

Ok place. Had a good selection of bottles in the fridge, but the draught Youngs Double Chocolate Stout I ordered didn't taste like Chocolate Stout - more like an Oatmeal Stout, I drank it anyway ($5.50 at Happy Hour). The place was cozy, but in true Pittsburgh fashion was very smoky. I doubt I'll bother with it again, considering Pipers Pub, Smokin Joes, and Fatheads are a short walk away.

The lady that runs this place is great. she is one of the few career bartenders left out there. solid tap selection of micros/imports. less knuckle-headish than fat heads (more attractive crowd) a bit too smoky however. definitely a good choice for a cold one on the southside.

Zythos breaks the mold of crappy beer bars (along with Fat Heads) in Pittsburgh's south side. The crowd is mixed, with a good percentage of young and alternative....The beer selection is incredible. Zythos also has a reputation as a great place to catch live shows.

very cool place. Great interior and one of the best beer selections in the Pittsburgh area. Add to it the frequent cool shows and gatherings, this is a must stop bar to visit when in Pittsburgh.
