Don't usually do follow-ups but figured Jack's could use the boost. Wish this place was closer to my area. Truly a sports junkies paradise that also puts out great beers. As during my last visit, had the Gridiron Amber, IPA and Penalty Shot Porter. All went down quite well but this time the Porter won out. Wish I would have noticed earlier but they have their Anniversary Ale tipping in at 8.5%. Good excuse to go back soon. The food menu is another great reason to stop in. Lots of variety beyond standard pub grub. The Blackened Chicken/ Sausage Pasta dish I had was excellent. Love the vibe of the place. Casual and friendly. Only knock is the $4.99/pint. But that's still cheaper than the places in The City. Well worth the price.

Jack's has the BEST Hefeweizen that I have ever tasted. The food is good and there is a fairly diverse selection. The atmosphere is VERY comfortable, the patrons are very friendly if you want to talk or not if you don't. This is a sports bar & the selection of sporting events is great. If there is something on that you want to watch, the staff will go out of their way to find it for you. The staff is VERY, VERY friendly and courteous no matter how busy they get

Was able to spend a nice Thursday evening at this brew pub during a recent visit to Fremont, CA. It's tucked away in a shopping center, and GPS helped us find it. Overall, I'm glad we did. The beer was quite good, including the large selection of seasonals. I am a connoisseur of IPA's and theirs is good. Not the best I've ever had, but good. My friend had a porter and ESB, also good. The food (shrimp on rice) was delicious and healthy. Not much ambience... it reminded me of a Denny's converted to a brew pub. But the beer, food and staff were great. I'd definitely go back.

Jack's is a great place, overall. Friendly staff and decent food add to the decent selection of brews. Some are seasonal, so be prepared for alternate choices. Would be great to see a few additions like an Octoberfest, Red Ale, etc.
The food selection is quite good, although there are some inconsistencies in prep, from visit to visit. Some is a bit salty, and changes aren't always easy to make (or get), so it seems as if prep is done en masse for some of the options. Still, a brew pub is a brew pub, not Alioto's, so let's be real here with our expectations!
I've always had the bartender (regardless of who it is), attentive, friendly, and willing to accommodate me/us. This goes to service, selection, changes, and games on tv.
I noticed that a couple of other reviewers indicated they had some issues with service or staff, but I've never seen it. I'll ignore the reviewer who said there were too many tv's. Geeze, dude! It IS a sports bar, after all!
However, I was concerned with the coupon concern that senior woman shared, but I'll give Jack's the benefit of the doubt. Heck, I didn't even know they HAD coupons! And I've had numerous interactions with the owner -- each one was very friendly -- so I'll err on the side I've encountered since my first visit.

Nice little neighborhood sports bar that happens to put out some fairly decent brews. This is the kind of place you're waiting for the door to open, a guy walks in and everybody yells "NORM!". Except Jack's doesn't have a full bar. Of the seven house beers, had a pint each of the Gridiron Amber Ale, IPA and the Penalty Shot Porter. All were quite drinkable but the IPA stood out (and I'm not a big IPA fan). The food menu goes an extra yard or two past the standard pub grub. I went with the Ty Cobb Salad in attempt to eat healthy once in a fortnight but next time I'm going for that big plate of fish and chips I saw pass by. The customers are friendly. The staff is young, vibrant and quite healthy. Now I know where to go if I find myself in the Fremont area. Where everybody knows your naaammme!

I got excited about this place before they opened - I saw the copper brewing kettles coming in and knew a pub was coming! Great beer and really good food. Quite a varied menu for a pub - the fish and chips are the best in town. Family friendly and great service! My family and I probably eat there at least twice a month. I highly recommend! See ya there!

Very busy sports bar with friendly staff. Food was great and nice portions. Beer was good. Everything that I tasted was very clean and drinkable. IPA was the standout. It was nicely balanced and more true to the English style. Give Jack's a try.

From the Awesome beer to the Awesome staff to their Awesome menu and sports programming., everything about Jack's is AWESOME!! If I had one suggestion to make, it would be the addition of a Red Ale to their beer selections.

As people have mentioned, the food is pretty good. The beer is not as good as Kelley Brothers in Manteca, but hey...Kelley's is a lot farther away.
My only real complaint has to do with ordering kegs. As a home brewer, I have a lot of 5 gallon kegs, which I regularly bring in to brewhouses to have filled. Jack's seems reluctant to fill these for me, even if they're meticulously sanitised. It would be nice if they offered that service, as I have a hard time finishing 5 gallons in a week (the usual lend time for their kegs).

The people here are friendly, and the service is good. Their beers seem to be made to please the masses, no sense of adventure. The food is average. This is not a place to go out of your way for.

I'm not a beer drinker, but the food and service are always awesome! I strongly recommend the BBQ chicken sandwich, but make sure you get extra napkins. The employees are always friendly and very attentive. I have dined at Jack's at least a dozen times, and have never had an unpleasant experience!

I eaten at Jack's over a dozen times trying something different everytime and have never had a bad meal. The beer is good and the staff is friendly. It's one of the few restaurants in Fremont that has consistently good food.

To Other Restruant Go'er. I'd rate this Pub quality of service as poor. The management of this restruant is surly, looses temper easily and is dishonest. To wit: the Mananger or owner was quite upset with me, while I made an inquiry about my bill. I presented a advertising coupon which advertised " Buy one Entry and Get the Second Entre and 50% off.
The manager indicated that this never applies to ribs. I suggested this advertisement look as a "bait and switch promotion. She refered to the owner, to wit: I explained that due to the circustances that I will bring this to the attention of the BBB and the Alameda District Attorney.
At which time, the owner began showing me towards the door, and followed outside. As I a senior citizen I don't belive the physical abuse was really necessary.

A much needed Brew-Pub in the Fremont area. Beers were very "drinkable" and all had flavour, I enjoyed the IPA the most. Service and food both very good, Nice roomy pub but a few less televisions sets is a must.
