We stopped here for dinner early on a Saturday evening. I’ve never had a bad meal at a Hops restaurant and this one was reasonably good as well. I opted for a grilled chicken dish while my wife really enjoyed a somewhat different chicken scaloppini club sandwich. Although most of the standard Hops brews have never been held in high regard, some of their seasonal offerings rate a bit better. I was too late for the Winter Amber Ale, but I enjoyed the seasonal Flying Squirrel Nut Brown Ale and the year-round porter-like Alligator Ale – each seemed relatively true to style. This brewpub is right along I-55 near exit 102.

I visited this brewpub on 5/31/03. This is a typical Hops! with lame beers. My server did not even know which beers were which when I was served.

For Jackson, this is a great brewpub. I wish it a long and happy life. Surprisingly for a town that thinks of Miller Lite, Bud, Coors Lite as GOOD beer this is a welcome relief. The seasonal beers (Oktoberfest, the summer Wheat, etc.) are worth checking out as well. In about 6 visits to the place the service has been great as well as the food.
