"The Vic", as it is known among the locals, is an example of the classic saloon found in an old western mountain town. It occupies a street corner in downtown Salida in the historic Victoria Hotel, overlooking the Arkansas River. Here you will find a beautiful old wood bar and the original tin ceiling designed to deflect the sounds of the saloon from the guests staying in the hotel rooms above. The beer selection includes imports and a number of Colorado micros. My recomendation is to enjoy a pizza and a pint or two at Il Vincino, and then walk the few blocks to the Victoria.
