I have lived nearby for two years, and go to the farmers' market across the street every Sat. But this bar has a dull façade like a boring local bar where fat Republicans drink Bud and watch football. Au contraire! Smart, friendly barman. Fantastic selection of beers and scotch. Prices are West L.A. style, but what can you expect in.........west L.A.? The two times I went (when wifey was busy!) I took my dog. No problem. She kept quiet, I kept quiet, no fuss. I wonder if the barman even knew that she was there. Oh, they have a shuffleboard table!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This place really has come a long way since I first visited it many years ago. It started out as a dive that served some English beer. Now it has a broad selection of high quality West Coast microbrews and English ales on tap.
Friday is cask-conditioned ale day. Get there early before both casks are drained.
Not a frou-frou yuppie joint like Father's Office. Just a great place for serious beer drinkers.

has come long way from lame dive, to dive with good brew selection. parking is a pain, good crowd, energy. not a typical "la scene". great bottle selection, with good deals on occasion.

Lon really knows his brews. Not bad on the 30 year old scotch too! Always engage the barkeeps with conversation. You'll get the best brews. More Arrogant Bastard Ale for me!
The young women know this place too. Nice and crowded on a Saturday night.

This is a great little store front neighborhood bar. It is set up like english style with low cielings. Lots of television screens to watch sports games. The have three pool tables on the backside and a dart board.
They have pretty good kegs of beer on tap such as Anderson Valley and Blue Moon. They have many other Irish and English beers on tap that I have never heard of. The selection is good but I was interested in microbrews.
The bad thing about this place again is the parking. North of Pico was fine but South of Pico was permet parking. Parking on Pico is metered so watch out. Also there is no food service at this bar. If your hungry you have to walk to Gilberts Resturant a couple of streets east of Pico.
The Service was nice from the Blonde Lady bartender with the British Accent. The regulars were pretty nice trying to me but couldn't control themselves when a nice looking women walked in.
This bar is way better then Father's Office on Montana but I would have rather hung out at the Snake Pit on Melrose.
