I visited this place a few times because my friend insisted and I was amazed at the lousy food, service, and ambiance. FOOD: the food came right away (good) which I discovered was because it was all previously cooked and simply reheated. The fish and chips were dark brown and smoky from having been deep-fried several times. SERVICE: Awful. The beer was good but we only got one glass. Once the imported, icy, Irish wait-staff took our order they never talked to us again. They'd file back and forth from the backroom to the bar and ignore the tables. They certainly werenāt overworked. We had our one beer with the food and wanted a second. We couldn't get the servers' attention and they didn't ask us if we wanted a second or even if we wanted a bill. After being there for 45 minutes, I just wanted the check so we could leave and get a beer somewhere else. I had to go into the back room and tap someone on the shoulder who agreed to give me the bill. The appropriate tip would have been zero cents. AMBIANCE: One more traditional Irish Pub with the traditional blaring, conversation killing music competing with the traditional six plasma screen TVs.

I love this place - it is my favorite bar. It is great for all of the sports- European and American and has several large tvs! Its also great on Friday and Saturday nights. The food is good and inexpensive and the waitresses and bartenders are really friendly.

When I stepped in this place, I felt like I had walked into my own neighborhood bar. The bartender and the customers were all so friendly. They have many taps--suposedly 35 although I couldn't count them all. Some I could see were Molson, Smithwicks (newly imported to US from Ireland--really good!), Worsteiner's, Magner's, Harp, Bass, Guiness, Anchor Steam, Stella, Sierra Nevada, Coors, Pilsern Urquell, Bud. A lot of beers, but none that really make me scream. Although, if I'm back in the neighborhood, the friendly atomosphere alone would be enough to get me to stop in again.

Long time regular... but I can be objective, there is no better place on the Upper East Side to watch the World Cup or European/world sports in general... the owner really takes care of his customers, flat panel TVs before everyone else, an awesome Shepherds pie, incredible staff... go on a Friday night for the 'big' party, or show up on a Monday night for the regulars in the area... either way, you won't have a bad time. This place has been there for 10+ years, and there's a reason why!

I made the trek up for lunch one day. It is way up there, but a great little pub with a charming little bartender when I was there and top notch pub grub. No rare beers on their 20+ taps, but enough to satisfy most people.

It's hard to argue with the Dublin native who reviewed this place earlier - he's right about how "in your face" this place is about being an Irish pub-style bar. But most Irish bars in America located outside of genuine Irish neighborhoods (which this one definitely is not) are the same way, so it's a small offense. What IS Irish about the place (having been to Ireland myself, I have a little perspective on the issue) is both the friendly, jovial atmosphere and the bartenders - redheads with thick Irish brogues every time I've been in. Beer selection is excellent - have yet to try the food. In addition, this place holds a special place in my heart because it has twice been my last stop before, uh, "sealing the deal" for the first time with someone I dated, so gentlemen who live in the neighborhood, take heed.

This is my favorite bar! I love it. I have a great time every time I am out and about at the Kinsale Tavern. The staff are friendly and I love the PINTS.

This is one of my favourite spots. Great pints of Guiness, great pub grub (the shephard's pie is outstanding!), and the best bartenders(Francis, Alan, and Justin) in all of NYC! Bonus: multiple TV's for your sporting pleasure.

Not a bit like an Irish Bar.....
Shouldn't be in your face, it should be reserved and quiet, let the locals and drinkers make it have an authentic Irish atmosphere

Wasn't terribly impressed with my recent visit. Lots of taps but very uninspired choices. Lots of generic beers, apparently to placate the trendy masses. Stayed for one round then left for more interesting pastures downtown.

This place is about as good as it gets for NYC. Great beer selection, great Irish bar atmosphere, and tasty, inexpensive bar food. A little far uptown, but you can't go wrong
