As I'm always happy to give things a second chance, I went back for dinner for the first time in quite a while and found not much has changed. The downstairs area was clean and the food was fine, though nothing to write home about. And the beer I had still sucked!
Against my better judgement, I ordered a Flanagan's Amber Ale and, though it had more flavor than the last time I visited, it was still thin, watery, and lacking in character. One new addition this time was a finish that was somewhat reminiscent of of the taste of dirt or wood (not quite what you want in an amber).
The wife and I sampled the pumpkin beer and it too didn't quite measure up. Though nice and orange with a snappy pumpkin aroma, it was so water-y that all I could taste was just a bit of spice and very little pumpkin...
Overall, the food's fine (though nothing exceptional) but the beer isn't worth a squat.

As far as the beer goes, one word: ICK!!!!
What was once OKC's best brewpub now ranks with the worst! When I went in after a lengthy absence, I was disappointed to find that the beer quality had gone to pot! I had seen a decline when one of the owners (who had no brewing experience) had taken over as the brewmaster and it has only gotten worse.
The wheat was thin and lacked character. The porter was watery and didn't quite have the malt for much of a finish. And the amber, which used to be my favorite, was just bland, lacking the subtle hoppiness and hint of sweetness it once had.
To top it off, the upstairs brewpub smelled and looked like I was drinking in an actual ash tray filled with stale beer!
The food is still good and the restaurant downstairs is still clean, but that's the only thing that will keep me coming back to Belle Isle.

The beer was awful. Tasted extremely watery and my friend agreed. Went on a Saturday night after paying a cover charge and there was no more then 10 people in the whole place. I had a pizza which was pretty good and the bartender was quick with service.

Went there twice over a week. They had five of their own beers and a few of the others. they have two levels, the upper has a large bar, pool tables, big screen tv, while the lower level has the restaurant and a smaller bar.
They had five brews on tap, sampled all via their cheap ($2) sampler and followed up wirh several pints of the IPA and stout. the other brews were the usual lighter styles for the "Bud" drinker. None were offensive, although the wheat was so non-offensive it lacked flavor. The stout had a nice roast twang to it. The IPA was quite hoppy, but lacked enough malt backbone leading to a roughness in the taste of it. Despite the flaw I still had several (it's my favorite style)The food was varied, quite decent and inexpensive.
I'll go again if I am back that way.

Odd-looking place upstairs, beautiful downstairs. Had the Fallfest and the oatmeal stout, enjoyed both of them quite a bit: good clean beers, and solid in style. If I came back to OKC, I'd definitely come back to Belle Isle.

Our first visit. For $2.25 we got the sampler tray and tasted five beers. My wife liked Wild Mary best and I liked Octoberfest. Service was prompt and personable. This is the best kept secret in OKC.

The beer selection is pretty basic. The amber was a good tasting amber and the stout was okay (didn't think it had a very good finish. The food was very good to excellent (the onion rings are the best I have ever had).

Went in at happy hour. Had a stout-nice tasting but too cold. Hefeweizen-well done but a little low on the ABV. Octoberfest-a little thin and not enough ABV for this style. Operating under the antiquated OK beer laws limits this brewpub-they do try hard though.

This was a very nice brewpub, a little fancier than average. The food was very good. The beer was good, but not outstanding. My husband & I would definitely go back if we were in the area again.

The bartenders and waitstaff are very knowledgeable about their beer. They take the time to get to know you and never let your glass stay empty. Neal the brewmaster will take the time to visit with you. This is by far the best brewery in town and are very consistant. The oatmeal stout is the best I've ever had. The IPA is very hoppy. All theirs beers are very good.

Beer is Ok....But the winning point is the friendly service where the bartenders generally take the time to visit with you so that you really feel at home...In order for them to have more business they should have more comptetive prices for a brewery. They need to have large beer mugs at least for the regular customers....Shrimp pizza is by far the best in town!

Nothing special. I think Bricktown makes a better low point beer, but the Stout was pretty good and so was the Amber Ale. The Blonde had quite a bit to be desired though. The food was OK also. Nothing to write home about or go out of your way to visit.

Of the two brew pubs in OKC, this is hands up on the Bricktown. I would rate the food at the Bricktown better. The IPA at the Belle is top shelf. Beats many ales that I've tasted. The Oatmeal stout is favorful but the amber is more "OKIE" mainstream. Unfortunately, OKC is a "kurs lite" kinda town.
This will be the place I go on my trips to OKC for beer.
PS The change to chicken nugget salad to a plain ol' grilled chicken. Only Okies can make a salad fattening.

The beer is lacking on overall flavor and lacks body. The Blonde is way too light tasting -- a Coors Light has more flavor. The beer flavor would be much improved if it was served warmer. The food was very tasty and I'd go back just for the food.
