Decent and expanding food menu. With that many taps, no need to go there for the food. As far as beer quality, they claim they clean the lines every two weeks and have a special dishwasher for cleaning pint glasses. As far as selection, lambic on tap. Nothing more need be said.

8-11-06 Fourty-five taps, I counted them. Over 100 bottles. Did nott have time to count them but friendly Jennifer found me a cold Belgian I had not met before for lunch and called me a cab to get back to the meeting I was suppose to be attending at the hotel. You seldom see 45 taps and a fantastic selection of good bottles with a friendly, knowledgeable server. Definately worth a visit.

I have complained in a report to the editor of this web site that there are two problems with this pub. The first is that it isn't in Colorado where I live and the other is that Awesome is not an adequate descriptor. We need to add Superbly Awesome. Even for New Orleans culinary standards, the Bulldog knows how to handle garlic and if (I think it was Don) the tattooed bar man is there, get him to fix you a Guineas and Lanbic. My One hour intended stay just kept extending. A low noise level allows conversation and making of friends. This is a locals bar that welcomes strangers. It's a good reason for emigrating to New Orleans. Just what a pub should be in all respects -- Superbly Awesome

Good atmosphere, outside seating available. Caters to the dog lover. 2 large water pails full of fresh water to quench the thirst of your 4 legged friends with a great selection of beer to quench yours. Didn't eat, just drank. We will definitely be coming back to the Bulldog next time we are in town.

I visited the Bulldog about 2 years ago. It was about 2 weeks after Mardi Gras when everything was still cleaned up around "Nawlins". I always enjoy my trips to the city and my visits to the Bulldog Pub. I spent about 4 hours and $150 last time because I enjoy good beer and good company, seems Abita beer tastes better in Louisiana. The selection of beers here always leaves me with choices to experiment with. I hail from just outside Memphis TN, and I enjoy a place called "The Flying Saucer" for my brewpub fix. The Bulldog is like a brewpub "home away from home" to me. Many happy returns are planned before I check out. Love the place!

For a city of so many bars, good beer is difficult to find. I took a long bus ride to this place based on the reviews at Pubcrawler. The selections were very good, quite a few common imports, but enough different beers to keep me around for awhile. It was quiet (still early) and a nice break from the quarter. Worth the long trip up Magazine stree. Did not eat, but the pizzas next door looked wonderful.

Great fun place!! On Wed. Nights, they have pint glass night...where you get to keep all the nice pint glasses, and they change the designs and sayings on them regularly (great for the home brewer). Food is decent, and usually some good looking chicks there at night. They have that (NTN?) trivia game that is fun too..good participation and competition...parking is a bit small, but, not bad if you're on motorcycle...good pizza places on either side of the bar too..Rocky's Pizza, and Mystic Pizza, and a couple other restaurants...

This is a real beer bar with 50 beers on tap. There is a good balance of imports, national craft beers, and local beers. Unfortunately, one cannot enjoy a quiet beer here even in the afternoon. There are huge speakers at each end of the bar blasting rap and rock. Bring earplugs or give this place a miss, unless you are deaf. They fry hamburgers in the evening.

A good escape from the madness of the french quarter. Not huge, but certainly comfortable atmosphere. All of the ales I tried were in good condition. Well worth it if you are looking for a decent pint. Several tables outside too (on the asphalt parking lot so no good during the heat of the summer days).

A great place to have some quality beer in a city that is geared towards the consumption of cocktails. Arrive early in order to grab a table as these are few and the place gets extremely crowded.

An incredible transformation from a seedy neighborhood bar that tended to lock its doors in the interest of self-preservation. Too expensive and too yuppie for the big sleazy, but the whole town is getting too upscale for its own good. The selection gets no better in the area. Still no food upon my last visit.

Large number of beers on tap and a proper pub atmosphere. We worked our way through quite a lot of the local Abita Springs Stout - commendation to the barman who we kept up half the night!

The last time I was in New Orleans I stumbled upon this place. What a find!! The wall behind the bar is lined with over 50 taps of every style of beer you can ever ask for. The place is in the Garden District away from all the hoopla of Bourbon Street. I didn't eat here, but if the food is like the beer selections it must be good.
