This was the first of the three brewpubs in Anchorage that we made it to. I would easily rank it third of the three. I had the sampler which consisted of 8 of the house beers. None were remarkable or stood out. All were safely within their style but rather boring. The food was just ok. We got a pizza and the artichoke dip. It was also our introduction to how little you get for your money in Anchorage. The service was kind of slow. We sat outside and could see the potential for a nice day to sit out there and enjoy a few. We didn't make it back and I am not disappointed.

Went to this place back in July. Weather was perfect and IPA was some of the best I have had. Food is typical non-descript bar food. This was fine though because our bartender offered personable service and solid beer knowledge. Combined with the outdoor seating, this made for a great hangout for my buddy and I for a few days. IPA is crisp, hoppy but not too heavy on the palate which worked with the warm temps and sunshine that we were blessed with in July. I will be back.

This place looked like it was closing/empty up as we finished our tour around 10:30pm but they happily served up a sample flight of most of their beers. Could not take advantage of the view but Im sure its awesome/top 10 for brewpubs in the U.S. Last stop on our Anchorage beer tour. No shortage of great beers in Alaska. If you can visit the Kenai peninsula go to Kassiks, Kenai River, and Homer BC too.

Sadly, this place has really, really gone downhill in the last 2 years. Service is LOUSY. Good beer (if they don't run out). Some genius there decided to lose their Hefe..which was their best. Food OFTEN arrives cold. Overpriced diners. The deck, however, is Anchorage's best. Hey Snowgoose, please bring it back to your 2004 standards! We miss the good ole' days...

Great location and view and back patio and also fun games to play while in the bar.
Started with 'Susitna Hefeweizen', a heavier hefeweizen with a solid taste. It was a meal in a glass. Also tried '49er Amber Ale', middle of the road Amber over all. Next I tried 'Portage Porter', very roasty taste good chocolate finish and smooth. Best of all was 'John Henry Oatmeal Stout', a full flavor beer smooth finish. Just a great drink. The only negative for Snow Goose was the bartender at the time talked to use like we just came off the fishing boat for three months. Even I was blushing listening him talk with my mother-in-law sitting next to me and my wife.

Good brewpub with a wide selection of their own beers, and an excellent selection of Belgian beers. I especially liked their Wit. On their web site they advertise "Firkin Fridays [...] the unveiling of a new Firkin Brew [...] on the first Friday of every month." As one of the employees put it, "That was the original idea." Now, "Firkin Friday" is when they bring a new beer into the tap rotation. (As far as I could tell, they don't serve cask ale.)

I was in the Anchorage area recently for a vacation and we found our way to several local pubs (thanks to pubcrawler). Snow Goose had some great brews. Their stout was probably my favorite but the ESB and even the Heffe were nice beers. Combine that with the great view of what I believe is Knik Arm and the Alaska Railroad Anchorage Depot and you can't go wrong. We didn't have food but our bartender was very attentive, knew the beers well and let us taste as many as we wanted. They don't have a sampler but again they were very generous with tastings. All in all a great place that I'd reccomend.

Part of August 2004 Alaskan tour. Beautiful restaurant with top notch beers on tap. The IPA and Scotch ale wer our favorites. Food was pretty good, but pricey. Service was pretty good. The place was hoping and so was the wait staff. Nice view of Puget sound outside. Saw an AWAC taking off into the sunset. Will go back next time in Alaska.

Service aside, this place is tough to beat. The Fish-On IPA is great and the Bravehart Scottish Ale is close to perfect. The establishment is continuing to expand; the lowest floor on the building is now hosting live music. The menu items aren't too unique or distinctly Alaskan, and the prices are high, but the halibut tacos were excellent.

We stopped here while on our vacation to Ak. The Mosquito bite beer was one of the best I have had. The service and food was very good. The view of the water made it a special occasion for both of us. If ever in town, you MUST stop in.

This joint has an excellent selection of beers; the Winter Warmer seasonal was top notch. We tried a couple different appetizers, onion rings & jalapeno poppers, neither were very good and the service lacked. Sleeping Lady Brewing Company is currently brewing small batches of excellent beer in tribute to Johnny Cash; the Ring of Fire Belgian was unbelievably good.

The girl at the seating station/retail shoppe was clueless and couldn't answer my questions. Jesse the brewer was extremely friendly and helpful in answering my questions and brews some great beers. The Halibut appetizer was so good I ordered it twice then settled on the fish(cod) and chips for an entree which was really greasy and unpleasant. Wish I'd have ordered the halibut again. The bartender upstairs was extremely nice to talk to and helped me choose some great beers as a sampler. I ended up settling for a couple pints of their IPA which was very good. Definitely go to Snow Goose or Mooses Tooth if in Anchorage.

The Scotish Ale was one of my favorites, and my wife loves the Porter. Can't beat the view, especially when Mt. McKinley decides to make an appearance.

My family & I recently visited Anchorage Alaska, and stayed at a downtown hotel near the Sleeping Lady Brewhouse & Pub. We were disappointed to see the condition of the U.S. Flag being flown over the business. It was severely tattered and the ends of the striped fabric was heavily shredded. I felt the Pub needs to display more dignity and honor for our country's flag, and for the multitude of military personnel stationed in the Anchorage area, who sacrifice so much for their communities. I was so insulted by the poor treatment and obvious disregard for our nation's symbol of freedom, that I decided to go elsewhere.
