The owners at Circle V have decided to get out of the restaurant business in order to focus exclusively on producing the best beer in the state of Indiana. While they are still brewing on site, the restaurant closed on 4/19/99. The property is for sale, and Circle V Brewing Company will either remain on the present site as a tenant to a new bar/restaurant operator, or relocate to another site if necessary. Their beers continue to be available at other restaurants and bars. Brickyard Red, Pacer Pale Ale, and Muddy Waters Brown are available in 6 packs in Indiana and Milwaukee, and will be available next month in the Chicago, Pennsylvania and Louisville markets. Their seasonal Maibock is on tap at BW-3 in Downtown Indy.

I love this place- it looks like a Ponderosa with beer. There's nothing like sipping the Pacer Pale at the outdoor tables on a summer evening. This place is a refreshing change of pace from the downtown brewpubs; I just wish I lived closer so I could go more often.

We tried the Brickyard Red and Pacer Pale and were very pleased with both. The soups were wonderful (Clam Chowder & Cheese Lager). The nachos had absolutely no cheese on them and little toppings. The service was actually OVERattentive and tended to be annoying at times, although I know our server meant well. I would definitely give it another go.

OK, I'm a little biased, I belong to the mug club here. But it's because I think that this is the best beer in Indy currently. As for the service, I had poor service a couple of times when they were first opened, but things have improved greatly since then. The bitter is very nice, the pale is for serious hop-heads, but if you get there before the strong ale is gone it should be first on your list to try. Strong, yes, and extremly flavorful!

The porter was decent but they were out of the IPA when I was there. They have a good selection of other beers from various brewpubs...nice touch. All of their own beers are $2 on Tuesdays.

I would visit CV more often if the oversalted food didn't turn me into a watermellon the next day. The beers are great but hide the NaCl from the chef.

The Strong Ale (seasonal) was one of the best beers I've ever tasted. Lightly carbonated and full of malty flavor, with just enough hops. IPA is for true hopheads. Everything else is worth a taste. Definitely a place I will return.

There is no reason that the world's best Calamari should be served in Indianapolis, but it is at the Circle V. The beers are very tasty: the decor neo-diner?

This place has moved up from so-so since it has opened. They are trying to improve by reworking the beers. I always have a house beer here. The food is good as is the service, but I hate the chrome diner look.
