Sadly this location was closed as of mid-October 2003. The Topsham and Portland locations remain excellent!

All of the Sea Dog breweries are set on the water, so the atmosphere really makes them wonderful. The beer is not anything too special, but there is a lot to choose from.

With the decline in quality of Gritty McDuff's products, the Sea Dog is now clearly one of the best brewpubs in Maine. Great beer with good varieties including cask conditioned. I never see seasonals there unless blueberry wheat (no thanks) counts in the summer. Scenic, relaxed environment in great pedestrian harbor town.

Nobody mentioned the waterfall! Penobscot Pils was delicious but beware...it goes down like water. The Old Baggywrinkle was hand-pumped and tasty; IPA was great too...don't miss Sea Dog if you're in Camden and like beer.

See my comments for the Bangor location also. This is just one of those fantastic pubs to hang in. Plus, you can't beat the town of Camden... what a perfect location to drink great beer. Try a windjammer cruise!

Sea Dog's ales are some of the best examples of the American Style made in Maine. The seasonals are exeptional. And both locations are interesting places to be.

What a wonderful location in Maine: in a beautiful space complete with waterfall views. The great looking, attentive staff serves up one of the best cask conditioned IPA's I've ever had. If you go down-east you must stop in.

I know good beer, since I live in Germany, and drink plenty of it. Their East India Pale Ale is exceptional...... took some back in bottles, and it was as good as any mild bock I have had here.
