After hearing good things about this place we were very disappointed -when two of our three dinners were not very good. The appetizers were small portions for the price. The wine was good. But the service was bad. We had a question about one of the meals and asked the waiter -he didnt know -which was okay but he said he would check and get back to us -he NEVER did. The manager did adjust the bill a little but we will not go back there. We always leave at least 20% tip but only left 10% because we were unhappy with the waiter.

No brewing done here. The brewing equipment has been removed and the area is now the banquet area. All brewing done by Shipyard in Portland, ME. This should be removed as a brewpub.

If you are going to be near Topsham and Bangor but can only visit one Seadog...skip this one and go to Topsham. The beer is the same (lots of that yummy hazelnut porter) but the atmosphere is not as nice as Topsham and the service certainly isn't--pretty inconvenient parking too--ok, I was there on a Friday so I'll cut some slack there.

Great waterfront location. Patio seating an option--indoors expansive, maritime decor. Usually 8-10 beers on tap and 1 or 2 on cask as well. Server very helpful with tastes to help you make up your mind, or try a sampler if it's your first time here. Some of my favorites include: Dry Stout (great with a chocolate dessert), the ESB (on cask too!), the IPA and the Hazelnut Porter (very tasty!). The food is always good, even if you don't get seafood! This is one of my Maine favorites, especially if I've just come from Bar Harbor/Acadia and want to keep the excellent day going. A must stop!

Great place for dinner for the family if one is a beer head. I don't recommend taking small children. I had a "taster" of 7 different beers for $3.22. Wide menu range from pub fare to full dinner items. The Lobster bisque was excellent. All the other food was great. The Bangor IPA was my favorite brew, but they were all good. I least liked the Owl's head light beer (too light for my taste).

Where to begin? The sampler was amazing, with 11 beers in all for less than the price of one beer. All the beers were excellent, but two stood out: the dry hopped ale and the hefeweizen. You can't go wrong making a meal of the appetizers. The staff was helpful and friendly and the interior was tastefully appointed. Don't miss the Sea Dog!

Went on a very loud Friday evening, service was ok. Unfortunately, the waitress got my order wrong; though I ate it, this chicken and greens rollup was for a rabbit. It was filled mostly with purple and dark geen lettuce, hardly any chicken. Had an interesting dessert selection, but decided to leave before. Thank goodness I didn't get drunk on their YUMMY hazelnut porter, the ladies bathroom floor was quite yucky. Nice dating scene!

Great atmosphere and decor - nice deck overlooking the water. Great selection of beer. Most of their beers are pretty good. I thought the Porter was great - had a nice roasty/spicy flavor to it. The Hefeweizen was incredibly tasty too. Not my favorite style, but I had to appreciate theirs. If you like Hefes, you must try this one!

Been to both the Bangor and Camden breweries and both were great. This was our second visit to Bangor and we didn't even want to try anyplace else! I'm not a beer afficianado, but I really enjoy their brews and buy them bottled from our local stores.

I find the Sea Dog an enjoyable place to meet friends and drink beer. A pleasant atmosphere with good entertainment, and a great menu. I especially enjoyed the River Dog cruises which have been added this summer '98. The Sea Dog crew in Bangor displays awesome customer service and keeps me returning - and not just for the Beer.

The trendy pub of Bangor. Almost always busy with a nice nautical atmosphere on the waterfront near the public landing. Quality of food has declined over the last year but still OK pub fare. A change in the kitchen would make this a four-star establishment. Great entertainment many nights.
