Tour gets very crowded, get there early. Tons of samples and most beer is high alcohol. Can pretty much walk yourself around the brewery if you want to take a look.

Brewery does a tour & tasting on Saturdays from noon to 3pm. Beer can be purchased in bottles (and even mixed), special editions and growlers are also available.

I would have called their beers below-par a few years ago. They have since made great strides towards excellence with their line of heavy (>%6 ABV) beers. Double Simcoe IPA and Blithering Idiot Barley Wine are amoung the superlative brews. I was severly disappointed at the absence of a brewpub/tasting room.

The brewery tour on a Saturday was well done and informative. It was easy to get samples of a range of beers for tasting. The "big" beers from this brewery are clearly the best. Enjoyed the visit very much.

well... its 96 degrees out... with a heat index of 102--- its july 10th.... and they decide to release "12"... a 10.2% Rye Barley Wine. Hello.... McFly... doesn't anybody get it over there that very little of the beer geek population enjoy massive beers when you are dealing with crazy temps in the heat of the summer? I DON'T GET IT

agreed. Just confirmed he is eliminating the sub 6% Hefewizen this summer - and introducing a Huge Hefewizen - around 7%

Soon there will be no session beers left

Don't know what he will have out that makes sense when its 100 degrees with 100 % humidity during the summer - probably nothing

"Oops I did it again." The next beer they are debuting is Blasphemy --- yet another massive beer. This time its a quadruple abbey style aged in bourbon. Can't wait to have just 1 beer and have my head implode because the beers are so HUGE. Hey Dan --- wouldn't it be nice once in a while to have a beer out that you can have more than 1 of? Not all of us like to drink one huge beer and call-it-a-night. In the last year they terminated the ESB, Raspberry Imperial.. and debuted a Double Simcoe (another massive IPA), a TRIPLE IPA with Ginger (have two of these and you might as well clear your schedule for 48 hours), now this quad-bourbon nonsense. Alot of the die-hard Weyerbacher fans who got this place going and stuck with it for 10 years are seriously wondering where all of this is going to.

Dan still has a monopoly on the local Easton area as there is no competition. However I have been reading that a brewpub is going into the Pomeroy bldg. in Easton. If that really occurs that is going to hurt him. Speculation is Victory Brewing is going to open the brew pub. Also heard that Bethlehem Brew Works is opening a second location in Allentown on Hamilton and 8th. Thats more competition.

While the saturday tastings @ Weyerbacher are ok... its gets old having to drink 4 oz samples out of plastic cups. Nothing beats full pints @ a local brewpub. The market will speak --- it will be interesting.

Its the one off batches that truly make this company stand out. I had there Insanity, Heresy, Decadence, and Prophecy and in that order is the quality of the elixer. The Insanity is quite a kick and I would highyly recomend getting a case of this and enjoy one from time to time. Its a robust baleywine (blithering idiot in bourbon barrels) that lives up to its name. By far one of the best barleywines I ever tasted. There regular beers are good. Stop in on a saturday for a taste and tour, although the tour was like 3 minutes. The best tour I ever was on was The Shipyard up in Maine.

Rocket scientist,,,,,,,,Mt.Vernon Ale house doesn't have a liqour license,,,&since you don't no diddle about running a busines,,,right now is not the time for another place around easton cause too many investor slime have run the price of real estate&&liq.licenses up too where its not profitable. The River grille is being sold at a loss&&Montagues,,which has the license from the MVInn is being sold cause thugs are bad long term customers&the owner there decided on an annoying disco business rather than agreat restaurant& Micro, beer&fine wine business that would have worked,,&weyerbacher is a dead horse,,Porters won't carry it,,They have much better stuff,,in Troegs&Lancaster Milk Stouts&ales,,reallyyy great brew

Mr. Rasputin: Pay attention to the comments from the last reviewer.... get over it.. the pub is RIP and will never reopen. If you know so much about running a business then why don't you buy the Mt.Vernon Ale House and reopen it? Something tells me from your lack of correct grammar that you could never afford to do so. Do everyone a favor and move on and stop beating a dead horse... this is beyond stupid.

Mr. Rasputin Sir: The reason Dan didn't want to deal with the pub anymore was because the food was becoming a distraction. Coordinating the food, deliveries, reliable cooks, etc. was taking away all the time from what he really enjoyed - brewing beers. All the margin is in the beers, very little margin with the food -- thats why 50% of new restaurants go broke in the first 6 months of operation. While everyone misses the pub..you really can't blame Dan.

Beer quality always superb. However the disturbing trend is virtually everything Weyerbacher is turning out these days are high A.B.V. A total of 19 different beers are offered throughout the year, but only 4 are below 6% - The Hefe,Blanche, ESB, and their test market Lager. To add insult 2 of the 4 sub 6% beers are only offered during the Summer - The Blanche and Hefe. This means for the other 3 seasons you must drink either the ESB or the Lager is you want a sesson beer. Weyerbacher puts out great beers.. so the public wants to have more than 1 or 2 beers at a time -- but this direction gives the patron little wiggle room to session. The offering needs to be rounded-out more

I took a nice tour here. The staff is very friendly and very easy going. THEN CAME THE BEER. I sampled a wide variety of beer here and not a bad one in the bunch. I am a Weyerbacher fan to begin with and can say from experience, they can keep your palate busy. To name a few standouts for me personally, Old Heathen Stout, Hops Infusion Ale, and the Merry Monks Belgian Style are my top 3 favorites here, but there are many more goodies as well. Happy Drinking!

Weyerbacher brewing company is doing great while expanding their beer line as well as distribution. If anyone was a past patron of their late pub you may want to check out a NEW beer spot only moments away. Kelly Jo the old beer mistress at the weyerbacher pub and Derek, the old wyerbacher chef, have made their new home at 665 Northampton St. The place is called Which Brew and is well worth the visit. 10 Drafts which feature Weyerbacher beers and a huge bottle selection in a comfy, cozy environment featuring a deck/beer garden for when the weather is nice.A lot of old faces and new faces can be seen at the new mug club in town.

The previous review is correct. The owner is not going to reopen the pub and is going to remain a distributor only. Too bad, met many friends and had great times at the brewpub. Many people seriously bummed in the area

The beer quality has definately become even better. The tour is quite informative too. However, nobody should hold their breath on the brew-pub opening up anytime in the next 5 years. The owner signed a 5 year lease on the existing brewing operation. Since that space cannot legally operate as a brewpub, its at least 5 years + before a brewpub can be even considered. In the meantime get the beer at your local distributor and/or stop by at the tour and get your growler filled.
