I have been at the HI location three times in two years with consistent results. It is an outstanding location with great German-style beers. This site has much better food and wheat beer than the Tempe AZ location.

Yesterday, they had four beers on tap: "export", marzen, bock, and winter fest. No pale ale (my favorite style); no stout. All of the beers tasted very similar: they were all fairly malty, and I wonder if they were all made with the same type of [bitter] hops?

I think this place is a bit overrated. The beers are okay, but nothing outstanding. The view from the patio is fairly industrial. And the food was okay, but nothing to seek out. Go to Kona Brewing in Hawaii Kai (east of Honolulu) for the best beer on Oahu.

Gordon Biersch's main attraction is the outside bar area on the water. You can watch the big cargo or passenger ships manuver into the harbor for docking. Gordon Biersch has excellent microbrew - the best I've had on Oahu. The food is good but just normal restaurant fare. I would rate Gordon Biersch as my favorite place to hang out and just have a beer with friends or a quick meal.

Beers were solid, clean examples of German Lager Beer. Great place to watch the sunset with a cold beer. Local menu was great, items you cant find at any other G.B. try the poke...

Clearly our friend from Chicago is either incapable of judging good beer or had other issues. The beer here, as with other locations in the GB chain, is well crafted in the German style. Their Blonde Bock and Dunkles are enjoyable. However, the seasonals are not to be missed. The current Maibock is a wonderful concoction, strong and sweet, with a thick body and head. The food is quite good -- once again, opt for the specials rather than the menu. Finally, the location is not to be missed -- on the water with plenty of seating.

I would not go back to this place. I was disappointed with the beer. There was not much of a selection. The dunkel was probably the best, but none of the beers appealed to me. The food was average and the service just awful. We constantly had to beg busboys to try to get our waitress to get things. She just disappeared for 20 minutes after giving us the check and we finally had to grab someone else in order to pay the tab. Nice location, but I would never go back.

Beers were exactly what you'd expect from GB, that's not really a bad thing though -- i find this chain one of the better ones. Our server was very efficient, but we felt like we were being talked down to when she described the beers and specials...My grilled ono over mixed greens was tasty, but my wife's "really spicy" pasta dish wasn't very spicy. The location is great and we were there late on a weeknite, so it wasn't very crowded and we relaxed and dined on the lanai...cool!

Stopped by several times in August. Right on the water at Aloha Center. the beer was standard GB - Export, Marzen, etc. The food was outstanding with an Asian flair. Staff was just SUPER! It tends to draw a tourist crowd, as befits it's location in a toursity shopping center, but the folks there do know their beer. The small outside bar with the thatched roof is just the place to kick back with a cold one and watch the sunset as the ships cruise by. On a scale of one to four mugs, give this a 3 1/2.

The beer is great, although the selection is somewhat limited. However, a visit to GB is mandatory for anyone passing through Honolulu. The location is fabulous -- on the water with lots of outdoor seating, live music on weekends, and excellent food (be sure to order the garlic fries).

Beer was excellent, food was way above average for a brew pub. Service was excellent(go to the Biersch home page- you can get a coupon for a free 1/2 litre glass. We loved the place!

Set in a shopping mall with limited parking, this place has a large out door seating area. The sevice was very attentive and all food was among the best I have had at any brewpub on the mainland. The microbrews were ok with a selection of about 5 or 6. The outdoor dining area overlooking Honolulu harbor was scenic and felt good as the warm tradewinds blew threw. If you are on Oahu any time soon, check this brewpub out.

Gordon Biersch was NOT designed to serve all of the normal beers. GB serves several varieties of Lagers from light (Pilsener) to dark (Dunkles). If you can not find one to suit your tastes then go to Safeway and buy a cold pak of Bud. Gordon Biersch has an awesome beer with teriffic people to serve you. Keep it up!!! Aloha
