After a hard day of skiing at Alpine Meadows there is nothing better than a refreshing pint of Truckee Amber!

The pizza is top notch, but since the brewmaster (now the owner of pizza junction) sold the truckee brewing company the beer quality has suffered. The beer tastes as if the yeast is contaminated. I spoke with the previous brewmaster last year and he may take back the brewery if it gets too bad. We'll see...

This beer was probably the worst we have tasted in our extensive microbrewery travels. We agree - way too much CO2!! The beer tasted as if it had been contaminated with some sort of bacteria. We left our beer glass almost full and so did the guys sitting across from us!! The food was good when you weren't swatting at the many flies buzzing around your plate. The hostess did not understand what we ordered and needed help putting the order in. She also had a tough time figuring out how much change we were to receive.
Lastly - the brewery itself is closed on Sunday evenings. Call ahead to check for their hours! We collect pint glasses from the microbreweries that we visit, but they didn't have any in stock and needed to order some. Quite a shame - since it was a one time trip. We won't be back to get a second chance to add another pint glass to our collection.

Except for the food here (excellent Italian pasta and pizza), I can't think of any good reason for going out of your way for this place. The Lager, Pils, Amber, Dark, and Bock were all thin and limp...//TSB

Everytime I have people over and pour a glass of Truckee Amber, it pours a head and turns heads, everyone always comments how great this brew is!!!

Beer, as is so often in the USA, has too much CO2 in it which masks a lot of the taste that the beer has. Truckee is a quiet place on the way to Reno or Lake Tahoe.
