"How about a real review for the new Empire? I was eager to stop in as soon as I heard that it had reopened. Was not disappointed in the least. Ordered a sampler and got to try 8 of their brews. Skinny Atlas Light was pretty good for a light beer--it actually had flavor! Hefe well balanced, not over the top. I was very impressed with the brown ale--it's actually brown. Roasty and malty and bold, maybe the best I've had. Pale was crisp, an all-around good beer. Black Magic Stout was very good. Lots of flavor and lots of flavors. Vanilla/chocolate/coffee/roastiness--smooth! Barleywine was from the previous incarnation and at 14.5% obviously malty and sweet, but alcohol not as noticable as you might think. Gumbo with cornbread portion was more than one person could ever need, but delicious. Welcome back Empire!"
