So we went out to celebrate my wife's and my mother's birthdays. As a family, just us, my parents, my gradma and my cousin. Since we all had to drive, we picked a place equidistant from us, in Queens. The place seemed nice, reviews were favorable and it was kosher. They gave us a private room. When we got there it was all set up, and very nice. However, the service there was probably the worst I ever experience in the United States, and it put French service to shame. We had to beg to be served. We had to ask for water. Twice. We ordered some appetizers - they came in one at a time over a period of OVER AN HOUR AND A HALF. One NEVER arrived. By the time we ordering the main course, we would have been done in most places. But the coup de grace was this: when you ordered the main courses, you ordered the main dish and the side dishes separately. Well, one of the side dishes arrived 20 minutes AFTER the last scrape of the LAST main course was eaten. UGH!
