I work in the area and it's one of my favorite places to go for lunch. One incident that stands out happened several months ago. I had a sudden craving for eggplant parmesan. I called the diner for take out and got the price. After counting my pennies, I had just enough. (a day before pay day)When I arrived to pick up my food, I discovered that I was short about $1.00. They let me have my sandwich anyway, and we both agreed that I would pay the $1.00 the next time I came in. Well, during my next visit, I told the cashier about the story and tried to give her the $1.00 but she wouldn't take it. She was very sweet and thanked me for being honest. It's a nice place and a true cozy SJ diner environment.

I've eaten here, or tried to, several times. Have not had one good meal. The staff is un-friendly, waitresses are nasty. Restaurant looks like any other diner, menu looks good. Food is horrible. After about the eigth time I went there, I won't go back.

It is apparently under new managemet. No traces of the old familiar staff. At 3:30 in the afternoon when it was almost empty, the hostess tried to seat three people at a small table. When we objected, she directed us to a booth that we are familar with - it is extremely narrow - my daughter has a cane, I have tricky knees and my husband is 6"3" and weights 250 lbs. My husband and I are in our mid-70's. We moved to a roomier booth across the room and were rewarded with a dirty look.
When we asked for take-home containers, we were told we were only permitted a certain number.
There was no peach frozen yogurt, as before.
When asked if they were under new management,we were told it was the same owners.
We will not go there again! The atomspher is completely changed.
