So So So So So So So So So So

Establishment: Harper's Restaurant and Brewpub, East Lansing, MI

there was a great bar on this site many years ago and now there's this overpriced place that purports to be a microbrew place, but the people who work there don;t really have a clue what's going on and the food is real blah. the wheat beer is the only saving grace in this place and it is pretty overpriced. don't bother

Awesome! Awesome! Good Good Good

Establishment: Brickskeller, Washington, DC

if you can't deal with rowdy crowds, stay away on weekend nights, if you come during the day on the weekend or weekday nights you'll get a table and can better enjoy the beer selection. the food is standard bar stuff, but not bad. but who comes for the food? the beer is where it's at, and the people who work there are friendly, especially when they're not harried with a bunch of people like on the weekend nights.

Great Good Awesome! Awesome! Great

Establishment: Cutter's Bayhouse, Seattle, WA

The food is outstanding. The oysters on the half shell are great, the crab clam chowder is wonderful and the salmon is to die for. The beer selection is small, but very good. The service was among the best I've ever had. They even drove us back to our hotel for free. Very nice people and very nice place - and a great view.

So So So So N/A Lousy So So

Establishment: Fado Irish Pub, Washington, DC

A yuppie wanna-be Irish pub. The real thing is up the street on Capitol Hill across the street from Union Station - the Dubliner. Go there instead, if you're looking for authenticity.

Great Good Good Good Good

Establishment: Rock Bottom Brewery, Denver, CO

The chance to take out the beer in those gallon mugs was cool, made a nice and unusual present. A highlight of a trip to Denver. The people that work there are very nice and the food was pretty good with generous portions that didn't break the bank. Not bad overall.

Establishment: Fraunces Tavern, New York, NY

This place is not about the food or the beer necessarily. It's about history. To hang out in the same place that a few founding fathers hung out is pretty cool. If you're not a history buff then go somewhere else.

I don't understand what the big fuss was about this place. Okay, the big screen tv is cool, but so what? I don't think it's worth making a trip...

Great N/A Good Great Awesome!

Establishment: McSorley's Old Ale House, New York , NY

Mcsorley's is the epitome of what an Irish pub should be, and not these johnny-come-lately cigar bars who call themselves Irish pubs just because they have guinness on tap. I used to go there a lot when I lived in New York and still do when I go back for visits. This is an especially cool place for history buffs. The people that work there are down to earth and nice and the best time to go to avoid lines is on a Sunday afternoon. The cheese and mustard and cheese platter are a must and the beer price is unbeatable, especially when there's a bar just down the street that charges way too much!!! Have fun and Erin go drink!

The food was awful (way too greasy, even for bar food), except for the chicken wings. But no one goes there to eat and the beer selection is tremendous. I wish though, that there was more of a selection on draft.
