JIM, YOU HIT IT RIGHT ON THE HEAD. THIS GUY WOULDN'T KNOW A DECENT BEER IF SOMEONE THREW IT IN HIS FACE. McSOLEYS WOULD RATHER NOT SERVE CUSTOMERS SUCH AS HIM. THEY PROBABLY SENSED HIS "BETTER THAN EVERYONE ATTITUDE" AND WAS GIVEN POOR SERVICE BECAUSE OF IT. HE SHOULD HAVE READ THE SIGN "BE GOOD OR BE GONE!" I HOPE YOU WOULD RATHER BE GONE FOR GOOD. McSORLEYS WILL ALWEAYS BE THE BEST DESPITE MORONS LIKE THAT!! |

My experience with McSorleys is a bittersweet story. Let me explain. I am a native New Yorker who moved to Florida before I reached an age when I could enjoy pub crawling and great beer. I am a Firefighter and after 9/11 Some of my FD Brothers and I wanted to show our appreciation for the sacrifices made that day (343 lost)! We collected money and drove to NY to hand deliver a check to the men of L-11, E-28 who lost 6 members. The money went directly to their families. Well... Mcsorleys was the favorite hangout for these guys as well as many other FDNY Firefighters. WE celebrated those guys that night that we visited this great American Landmark. I think the beer tasted better that night because we were honoring such great men who made the ultimate sacrafice. I will never forget that night!! |
