Good selection of beer...and some classic photos and b/w movie of building the dam to take up some time while sampling.

ok, still looking to try them...their website advertises that the beer is at the HRH & casino...but no one there has even heard of tenaya...so, either will be duped by trying to find it at another establishment advertised...or make the trip out to the premises...

other reviews spot on...sure, ya can get a cheap meal and brew...didnt try the food, the beer could well be extract brewing, but dont know that for sure...but while i always like to support the brewpub effort, doesnt appear that this brewer takes this as an art, but more of just a paycheck...nothing out of the ordinary or worth the special trip...just get a sam adams or fat tire at your current gaming table...(and yea, they should raise the ceilings and get some better ventilation in the place...)

Still all good. Small but friendly crowd in the afternoon. Most there to taste and appreciate a good, quality micro...and the the consensus was that this is the place to hang out...besides their standard brews (gold, a bit tasteless and light for me, but good for training wheels, red lager, porter, and the pale, not a bad rendition of american pale ale, good hop balance) the brewer put out a cherry infused cream ale, personally, i dont care for fruit in my beer, but applaud the brewers effort...(and more than a few of the women in the bar liked it) and the brewers reserve this day is a "richards black hop", they describe as a cross between barleywine and ipa...i dont see that at all...more like a hopped porter...not all that impressive, but many appreciated the 9.7 abv...all brews 2 bucks at happy hour...best deal around...and of course free at the casino floor...all that and pretty cool location, interesting hotel and casino and steps from fremont st...check out the hourly evening light show...

some peeps like to dis the chains, but i find the rams, and bighorns to be tops among the chains and this is no exception; consistent beer styles and food menu. and cant beat em for sports....carry football and nhl....life is good.

very accommodating for large groups....but food tended to take longer than normal to come out, but when it did, very good.

if you want consistency and to be able to depend on good beer and food, check out the ram

man, curb ur enthusiasm...at least offer the redesign for beer!! dive bar. but there is nothing wrong with dive bars, especially this one.....very good selection of micros, most regional as in deschutes, and rogue (of course they are going for that "pirate" theme. and the place is full of pirate wannabes...some might say freaks, or ecletic mix, but young, old, students, professionals all seem to mingle making for enjoyable time. didnt have anything to eat...but most were there for food. not worth a special trip as the beers are also carried at ha'penny and others, but if in the area, then a must stop and stay. service was sporatic, seemed attentive when i didnt need a brew and had to wait for someone to come back from smoke break when i was ready...but all the waitstaff real interesting people...

Usually try to get irish pubs off of pubcrawler, as they tend to just carry those irish pub beers...well this isnt your typical irish pub....although it looks like one, plenty of wood and stone....besides the standard irish imports, of the 24 taps, no less than 11 are dedicated to micro/craft brews...and many from the region, 1 from another brewpub in town (sockey daggerfalls ipa). food, just great..was in the mood for irish stew and it did not disappoint, first time that i had to cut the lamb in a stew with a knife...chunks so big couldnt just put into mouth...local bands play...and this place is big enough to accommodate a crowd downtown

didnt eat, but food looked just as i remembered. i try to support the local brewpubs first, but would have to say that i prefer the ram over the hollow in boise.

great fun at a downtown location. setup like a german beer hall, long tables to share...so interaction with others good. and the service, well, so attentive to the point of almost being annoying have to answer (is everything ok!!??). but no, it was great every server that walked by would check up on you, not just your initial. beers, standard styles and very drinkable, but none really "out there". brewed an "octoberfest" to go along with their weeks long celebration. quite good. cant say the same for their attempt at german food, edible, but nothing special. nice location to watch sports too...many tvs visible.

In my week in boise visited all the brewpubs in town at least twice and would have to say this is the tops. Out of the way location, and a little more upscale in appearance, at least for boise (most places tend towards that laid back approach). Still casual in the bar area, not many seats at bar, but a number of hightops, great for music nights. But the reason i put it tops is the Dagger Falls ips, good balance with very pleasant 100ibus. The hell diver pale ale is just slightly lower in the flavour category, while still very satisfying for even the most heady of hopheads. Throw in there true to style seasonal harvest ale and it makes for a pleasant evening of imbibing. Menu is varied and nightly specials very good and reasonably priced. If you are into salmon, (i am not), menu has many items in various forms. Bartender and table waitresses very attentive. Another good note, strictly a beer and wine bar...no liquors or blenders. For wine drinkers, more wines than beers.

Nice brewpub with that "local" feel. Covers the range of beer styles, with staying towards middle road on all except the wheat. raspberry i did not try, but they have a ginger that is palatable. Also, noteworthy is the Doolies dark ale. Not as sweet as an amber, good session beer. They tout the Hippieshake as a BIG ale, but i didnt find it to be. An ok, ipa, malt ok, hops lacking a bit for my tastes. The pale ale was out??? even the bartender was surprised...said he has never heard of em running out of that. Looks like a great place to stop on the way back from skiing.

wow, just my luck...arrived in aspen on a wednesday night, in preparation for a weekend rugby tournament, and the town was dead...just looking for a respectable brew...and i found it!! walking down a dark, scarey street...i thought this place didnt exist...then all of a sudden...wow, a jammed full parking lot and illegal street parking overflow...turns out..tonight just happened to be their 6 month nniversary...tonight was "you flip for it" half price pints...and even though i was a three time loser...the beers made me a three time winner..rory, brad...and i forget the other dude's name...not only make you feel like a local...they also educate on their brews...they offer up the full complement of beers typical of a brew pub...a red, pleasant brown (great story here), respectable wheat and a lager are regular fare...they skipped the pale ale in favoure of the tremendously hopped balanced "independence pass ale"...[get it ipa??) anyways, you will be doing yourself a favoure checking this place out...good beer close to the heart of aspen...(they also are pulling some taps in town (ie hotel jerome)...the town doesnt like em...{making them close at 9} but it is obvious the locals appreciate them and judging by the crowd on their 6mo anniv...they are here to stay!

previous review is smack on...they are victims of their own success...not necessarily a bad thing...went there during a cubs game, so of course, the place was packed, and yes, it was a bit uncomfortable with the crowd, the requirement to leave your credit card if ordering food, blah, blah, blah. i do prefer to have the bar to myself, to be able to ramble on about beer styles etc...this was not the night, but the bartenders knew their stuff...there are no samplers, but the staff could explain the qualities of each beer type, and the ones i had...the double ipa and the ipa were very good. get there early to get seat at the bar and enjoy youself

A great place in austin. had a chat with the brewer, peter, he just released his "first" anniversary ale, a double ipa, loaded with cascades, simco and amarillo and another to smooth it out that i can't remember...still a bit green, but good nonetheless...was in town for the national men's senior club rugby championship series...and really needed some good beer...i was skeptical about a brewpub in a college town...and an area that brags about how great lonestar beer is....but this was a great place to hang, day or night....indoors or outside on the deck...and the barbecue is really good too...dont let them scare ya about the hot sauce (with habeneros) that's what the beer is for..to put out the heat!! peter is really excited about the smokers here for the meat et...he plans on smoking his own grains with a variety of woods to see what happens with the beer...look for a scotch ale or rauchbier sometime in the future...

Have not been there yet. Just read about it in the Rocky Mountain Brew news. Local reviews from the Denver Westword have not been favorable, mostly poor service and food. Will find out for myself when I visit Denver next week.

Luckey for Boise, 4 brewpubs and all good, but TableRock is my preference. Agreed. the ambiance is weird...just what is the theme here? Look one direction in the bar area and seems to be a sports bar, tvs, pine paneling, long standup tables, kindof a metro feel, then turn and look towards the restaurant seating and resembles a french bistro...so maybe the menu holds the clue...nope, we find steaks and mexican and italian selections...but the food is well prepared, sizable portions and tasty. But hey, the beer is what it is all about! Local "best of" voted them best beer 7 years running...and i can see why, usually 10 selections on tap, 7 regular and 3 rotating seasonals. i'll pass over the woodpecker light, not my style, not much impact, but a good transition beer for the novice. while not a fan of wheats, i did enjoy the whitebird wheat, not your typical wheat, with overpowering clove and bannana overtones, instead, this is described as an american wheat, but drinks more like a lager. the st andrews amber is an amber, but does justice to the style, if not a bit sweet. the hophead ipa did not kick me in the teeth as expected from an ipa, especially with the name, but with only fuggles and kent goldings, that just won't happen, a pleasantly hopped brew though. so, went for the laughing dog pale ale, described as a nw style pale ale, which to me means loaded with cascades, but alas, not to happen, instead, heavy on the willamettes, but probably one of the best willamette pales i have had, and besides, i am a sucker for any beer named after a dog. ok, ok, i won't drag this out any longer, the hopzilla pleased me greatly! what more can i say, my fav...generous, no, massive amounts of amarillo hops, closely resemble my beloved cascade flavour without the bitter hit...very drinkable and good, and leaves you wanting to drink more. the selection was rounded out with the seasonal "orange blossum", with orange blossum honey (thought that was only in florida!), with some coriander and orange peel thrown in...sounded more like a wit, but drinks more complex, enjoyable for summer. my dessert beer was the weizen cream stoudt...not sure at first just how to describe what i was drinking...it was silky, but lighter than most stoudts, and had a pleasant coffee finish...so had to ask just what the makeup was...turns out that in addition to wheat, there is a combination of six barley malts...nice. dont miss this place while in boise

Nice find with the limited choices for good places to get a beer in Key Largo. Always try to drink local, and they did have Key West on tap (although that is now brewed in ybor city), and a decent selection of other micros and imports. Took a while for the staff to warm up, as this is a "local" restaurant, but once they did, very friendly and informative. The food looked great, reasonably priced and highly recommended by the patrons. Local specialty is anything made with "conch" so tried the fried, which now i can say been there, done that, it was ok, but seafood isnt my thing anyways. but wow, the key lime pie was local made and outstanding. on the water at the marina. would go back if i had more time.
