Good Lousy N/A So So So So

Establishment: Silverton Brewery, Silverton, CO

Not the greatest beer, selection or ambiance, but hey - at least there is a brew pub in Silverton! Worth checking out!

2 brews on tap most of the time...

Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! Awesome!

Establishment: Three Rivers Eatery and Brewhouse, Farmington, NM

Josh, the tap tender, told us not to even bother with the sampler - he would give us as many tasters of whatever we wanted! And all that we tried were incredible - bold and heavy with clean finishes. If you are into hops - the Sweet Sista is a great mild, but full flavored brew, but for the TRUE hop lover, their standard IPA was bitey, hoppy and full of juniper aroma. A clean hop bomb. On the other end, they have nice malty beer to offer - but the favorite was the Red Menace - a seasonal that pounded out an 8.5 ABV! Awesome - but not if you are the driver! F-town is grungy and not to friendly, but Three Rivers is a reason to return!

Great Good Good Good Great

Establishment: Gordon Biersch Brewing Company, Las Vegas, NV

If you are into the Malty brews - this is the place for you. My wife is more into the Hoppy - she was bummin' that there wasn't much for her, but hey - malts are what this place is all about. They actually had an Octoberfest and a Marzen on tap at the same time, and they were two different brews - NICE.

Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! Good Awesome!

Establishment: Pizza Port Carlsbad, Carlsbad, CA

This place is the HOP BOMB!!! With TONS of selection, most had hoppy happiness. Went to Carlsbad once and discovered it - went to Carlsbad twice and got a hotel within walking distance - THAT GOOD! Killer whole grain krust pizza and all the surf videos you can watch while piling on the brew. If you don't like hops, you won't have as much to choose from, but still a great selection. A new favorite!

Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! Good Awesome!

Establishment: Rogue Ales Public House, Portland, OR

This place rocks. Huge variety of tastes, with unbelievable quality - all with a clean finish! The strange neighborhood is SOOOO worth the beerz. Not scary - just industrial. Toured Portlands brew pub scene and ended up coming back for more! Unbelievable - the bottled Rogues in the liquor store DO NOT do this place any justice!

Great Good Awesome! Great Good

Establishment: Eske's Brew Pub and Eatery, Taos, NM

Service and food were really good, however, the beer selection seemed a little lacking (unless you include the guest beers they had on tap, which don't count at a brew pub!) If they have what you like, they will probably do it well, but that could be a big if...BUT they have a GREAT summer patio with a friendly pub dog running around! Anyway, where else can you go in Taos???

Establishment: Paradise Brew Pub and Grill, Pagosa Springs, CO

No longer in business, unfortunatley. Rumor has it there is another brew pub on the way in late 05, but we will see...

Awesome! Awesome! N/A Great Awesome!

Establishment: Main Street Brewing, Cortez, CO

What? A brew pub that ENCOURAGES blending? The owner hailes from German beer country and hired a brew master thereof, so take the time to find out what their beerz are all about. Your taste buds will not lie! Full flavored, full bodied beer with out the 'hock' in the back of the throat - the consistantly cleanest finishing beer this side of the Mesa Verde!

Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! Awesome!

Establishment: Steamworks Brewing Company, Bayfield, CO

We travel a lot, and Brew Pubs are the determining factor of where we stay. Honestly - this is one of the BEST brewpubs we have toured (out of possibly 50 or so?) Service, food, selection (usually 12-15 on tap) are outstanding. There is a Steamworks in Durango, but the service has snobbery about it and has never had that friendly ambiance associated with most brew pubs. The staff in Bayfield is very friendly and knowledgeable – they have fun... The brews at Steamworks Bayfield have clean finishes - all with distinct tastes. Not watered down, but not too heavy (unless you are aiming for a Stout or Porter that is supposed to be). Steamworks in Bayfield is a MUST!
