Bulldog - Uptown, New Orleans, LA
An incredible transformation from a seedy neighborhood bar that tended to lock its doors in the interest of self-preservation. Too expensive and too yuppie for the big sleazy, but the whole town is getting too upscale for its own good. The selection gets no better in the area. Still no food upon my last visit. |

Redhook Brewery, Portsmouth, NH
The staff was a riot during the tour and friendly at the bar. After having so many poor Red Hook drafts around the region, it was a pleasure to be reminded of how well they can get it done. Their distributor must be doing something wrong. |

The strong ale is quite good and the #9 knock-off of Magic Hat isn't bad, but the overall selection lacks distinction. Don't bother with the sampler as you are forced into a set menu. Bar fare promised more than it delivered. |

Jewel in the White Mountains. I stumbled across it a few ski seasons ago and return whenever possible. A must visit. The inn is also very accommodating. |

Belgian was very good and Barley wine was interesting, but the remainder was lackluster. Atmosphere was unnecessarily loud and false-posh. Service was slow at best and unattentive. If you're in Nashua, go to Martha's instead. |

Good IPA when available and a decent porter. Selection at any given time was limited to only 4 or 5 beers unfortunately. Very good chili. Overall a good spot in the so-called greatest little town in America. |

IPA and Wheat are terrific. Belgian was good but disapppointing. Have heard good things about their Oktoberfest offering, but haven't yet tried. Great Rueben and Sweet potato fries. Service is friendly but needs lots of help, specifically at the bar. |
