Establishment: Manhattan Beach Brewing Company, Manhattan Beach, CA

Great location, I love to take people to this Brew Pub who visit from out of town. Turning off of PCH on to Manhattan Beach Boulevard opens a festival of colors and sights for the eyes. As you peer down the steep hill in front of you can see the road turn into the light post-lined Manhattan pier “always beautiful”. Parking is tricky and will cost you unless you ride a motorcycle and park it in the unique free parking area for motorcycles just fifty feet from the front door. Hike up the hill, which seems like a forty five degree angle, you will know that you are there since there is usually a dog tied up outside or a group of beach cruisers locked to the meters.

Ok now to the beer, Pale Ale is the way to go and you can save a buck or two by getting a Pitcher. My only grip with this place is the lack of happy hour so you pay a robust price for each beer. The food has always been good and the location kicks butt. Also the restaurant is pretty small and it’s all indoors. The best seat is in the front window by the bar where you can watch the surfers walking up and down the street. You can find other reviews by me by clicking the envelope below.

Great Great Good Great Great

Establishment: Ein Stein's, Hermosa Beach, CA

Ein Stein's is full of character and has a colorful assortment of beers. Dark beers always come to mind when I think of this unique brewery located just two blocks from the beach in Hermosa Beach. Character is everywhere from the copper lined tanks behind the bar to the blue eyed white bushy haired owner who of course eerily resembles Einstein himself. There is an outdoor patio, which is nice to be on to watch the sun go down. Parking can be a little tricky but if your lucky you will find a spot in the parking deck below the building. My brother from Ohio, who is afraid of clowns thought it, was unusual to have a bathroom attendant at a Brewery. You can find other reviews by me by clicking on the envelope below.

Awesome! Awesome! So So Great Great

Establishment: Red Car Brewery and Restaurant, Torrance, CA

Red Car Brewery is a hidden treasure tucked away in Downtown Old Torrance. It's hard to go wrong with any beer selection here and Red seems to be the beer theme. I was impressed with the beautiful wood lined tanks behind the bar and the attention to their cleanliness. The food so far has been So So and the dinning atmosphere is a little chilly. Parking is a plus in a newly paved "free" parking lot and I have yet to wait to get a table. The staff really warms up the place and the location seems to take you back in time for the evening. I recommend the Veggie sandwich and the spinach dip, and if your lucky you will make it in time to taste their Pumpkin Ale. You can find other reviews by me at Brew skis and Einstein’s.

P.S. I can't say enough about the Pumpkin Ale it is phenomenal

So So So So Good Good So So

Establishment: Gordon Biersch Brewing Company, Pasadena, CA

Gordon Biersch is a nice surprise to find in the Pasadena promenade but you may find that after a sample round of their beer that the surprise quickly fades away. I do like the brick building and their outdoor patio which affords you a veiw of happy shoppers and hunk of outdoor art. The last thing that I like about this location is the kooky bathroom which is located on the third floor and the elevator ride you need to take to get up there. You can find other reveiws by me at Brewskis and Red Car Brewery.

So So Good Good Great Good

Establishment: Brewski's Brewing Company, Hermosa Beach, CA

Location is everything at Brewskis which is only steps away from the beach and is located in a "full of life" promenade. The beer is So So but their happy hour deals and "Mug club" make sure that you will not go home thirsty. One more perk would be the two or three local area night clubs that fire up around 9:30 PM that can turn a casual dinner into a late night grab bag.
