The begining of my visit was great. I was served a pint of my choice quickly and courtesly. About a half dozen TVs with different NFL games on, excellent! Well after that it was just about all downhill. The chili was lifeless and boring. Then onto the fish n chips, fish was so geazzy and soggy, just awful. The fries had an interesting smoky bbq seasoning. Onto what i came here for the most, the brews. Not good overall. Most notably the belgain stout with the swear word in the name. I give credit to the brewers for trying something outta the box, but the result was a muddled mess. The roasted malt and the belgain yeast strain were not a good mix, basically undrinkable. The ESB had a soapy aroma that didn't help and the chocolate and roast flavor was far more dominant than the hops and not at all to style. To finish this on a positive note, the IPA was excellent. |
