Beer Quality Beer Selection Food Service Overall
N/A N/A Lousy Great So So

Establishment: Dish Osteria and Bar, Pittsburgh , PA

The atmosphere and service were great, however I would rather suffer some abuse than have lousy food. The bread arrived at the table, cold! Three of dined on Saturday evening. My wife had the soup starter I had Texas Shrimp in Garlic Butter Wine Sauce, the soup was bland but salty, the shrimp was very bland. The thin soup like broth underneath the shrimp did not appear to contain any wine, garlic or butter, it was tasteless. The Scicilian Red wine we paired with dinner was great. My wife had the scallops for main course, very salty. I had the New York Strip Steak - rare, probably one of the worst steaks I've had in a while, too much fat and sinew, the first portion appeared to have 'sat' for too long, the remainder was a lot more pink, maybe they just had a uneven heat on the grill. My steak was accompanied with small diced crispy potatoes, crispy on the outside - raw on the inside. There was also a sauteed spinach on my plate which was less than memorable. Dessert, Chocolate Bread pudding and Tiramisu, wasn't as fresh as a it could be, the bread pudding also had that feel that it had been plated the day before. Their Barista had broken, so Espresso and Cappuccino were out.
