have been here many, many times, good to slightly better than good beers. Stout is probably the best. be sure to ask what the current "infusion" is. last week was a Scottish W/whiskey soaked oak chips. A little hot on the palate, but one of the better beers I've had there.also, the IPA does seem to be getting a little hoppier, but still not great. menu hasn't changed much in 10 yrs, but food is always good and service is always above average. |

What should be my local brewpub just isn't anything to get excited about. The average customer here wants to drink Bud, and sadly, they accomodate them. Rumor among local people in the business is that they are one of the top Bud draft accounts in the Vail area. Pretty sad, folks. The beers are solid and consistent, but the owner is not a beer person and will not let the brewer experiment. Tey've had the same boring beers since they opened close to 10 years ago. ( honey, red, wheat, pale, and stout,I think)(stout is served ice cold, too.) YAWN, If you like interesting beer, don't bother. Avereage to below average food, as well. It's a shame our valley can't support a proper brewery. |

Mountain Sun Pub and Brewery, Boulder, CO
This place is rapidly turning into my favorite Colorado Brewery.Huge selection of beers, sometimes the same beer served regular draft and nitro ( last visit they had the Kind and Java Porter both available both ways. While we were there, the Java ran out and was replaced with the Belgian Chocolate Stout. WOW, is that great. Smooth, rich, and very chocolatey. If you only have time for 1 brewery when in Boulder, this should be it. (no offense to Avery or Redfish) |
