Good Good N/A Good Good

Establishment: Steamworks Brewing Company, Vancouver, BC

Best of the four I visited in Vancouver. Did not eat but menu looked good and there were plenty of other diners. IPA was better than the rest but still a low IBU.

This is an overpriced tourist joint. $9.25 for a pint of their mediocre IPA. The only reason to visit is to say you went there.

Establishment: Granville Island Brewing Company, Limited, Vancouver, BC

This is a tasting room, so only snacks for food and only 1 pint, or 3 beer tasters, per customer. Beers were better than Dockside, but you only got one. The IPA was British style with subdued hops.

Nice patio, expensive food, so so beer. As with the rest of town the IPA's are not very hopped up.

Great Great N/A Great Awesome!

Establishment: The Church Brew Works, Pittsburgh , PA

Worth a visit just to see the beer works up on the old alter area and the stained glass windows. The beer was quite good also, had the IPA and was impressed. Did not eat but menu was large and many people were dining.

Most interesting of the brewpubs in town. Again the IPA's (Gamgster and Tender Situation) were not big, but they were true to style with more of an English hop character. The Cherry Stout was good, but the Cherry did not really come through. The hit was two versions of a Sour Cayenne Pepper Stout. The sour was more like a cider taste than a Belgian Yeast and balanced the Cayenne nicely. Obviously some inventive stuff here and a must stop. My #3 in town. Oh, and the Boch beer was very good also.

OK, so this is a Mecca stop, like Stone, Great Lakes, etc. Had the Breakfast Stout on tap and was not disappointed. Plenty of brews to choose from. Food was sandwiches which were nothing special. #2 in town to HopCat.

First, let me say that we visited all 7 microbrews in town an this is not a BIG IPA City. Overall the stouts were king here. That said the IPA here tasted like a scotch ale, too much malt to hops ration. The ESB and "Pail Ale" were good, and the Cream ale tasted like the line needed a cleansing. Not one of the top local spots but worth a visit.

This place is currently closed, they are re-opening at a new location near downtown. The new location will put Founders, HopCat and them all within walking distance.

Did not eat. ONly about 5 beers on tap,but high quality and not cookie cutter. Had a harvest ale that was quite good.

Very cool space inside a old (chapel?) Like a smaller Church Brew Works (PIT). I am not a huge Belgian fan but stopped in as part of a 7 pub tour of GRR. Had the Rye Porter, a little smoke, Rye flavor very subtle overall nice. Plenty of Belgian's on tap for those so inclined.

The earthy hops inthe pale ale were not to my liking and seemed to subdued, However the IPA had a nice flavor and plent of hops. They do not serve food anymore. Better than Chicago Brewing, but not as good as Big Dog's.

The beer was just not very good. The Hardway IPA had the skunky taste you get from lines that haven't been cleaned often enough and the Old Town Brown was just so so. There are definitely better beers in town.

Awesome! Great N/A Great Awesome!

I wasn't expecting much, but had the time to visit a few brew pubs while in Vegas. The beers here were excellent. I sampled the Holy Cow Pale, Red Hydrant which tasted like a subtly less malty scotch ale, and the Dirty Dog IPA, along with a seasonal Dog's Bullocks IPA which is more like a double at 8.1ABV. All these beers were on the mark, very clean finishes and hopped to nail the variety. I didn't eat, but if you have time, these are beers worth seeking out.

Awesome! Awesome! Good So So Great

Establishment: Fatheads Brewery and Saloon, Cleveland, OH

I frequent the local micro scene, as well as visiting microbreweries whenever I travel. Matt continues to make fantastic beer and the Headhunter IPA on cask is a truly destination beer (think Magnolia's IPA, so big you remember it). The other beers are excellent and the selection is quite varied. However, the food is mostly sandwiches/fries and there is not much for those seeking something healthy. During the week is is easy to get in, but the weekends can be crazy. A great place to have a few beer, but I would eat elsewhere.
