Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! Great Awesome!

Establishment: C.H. Evans Brewing - The Albany Pump Station, Albany, NY

I Have been to this place many times but just recently started with pubcrawler so here goes.

Tim was behind the bar after a day off and the phone kept him very busy. All that said his service was only down to great from the usual awesome.

Their Hefe {my favorite] was unavailable so i had a sampler and got a pleasant suprise. 6 beers in the sampler Scottish Light true to their description and much better than I expected as i prefer spicy sweet beers or Dark Beers. Quakenbush Blond was good but not my style. Next was very pleasant surprise indeed, Belgian Pale. I drink a lot of craft beers and this one is a delight, a Hefe style spiciness and a pleasant balance of hops at the end that i usually dont prefer but wow. After that Rowlands Porter, Pumping Station Pale, and finally Kick Ass Brown, all good as usual. Before I move on to the food I would like to say their conistent beer quality amazes me.

The Veggie Burger. Beans, corn, bun, LTO, guacamole, chipotle mayo and smoked mozz. Great, we opted for the sweet potato fies and they were also great. Thanx Mr. Evans for keeping a fine establishment up to par all the time even down to clean bathrooms.

Great Great Good Great Great

Establishment: North Country Brewing Company, Slippery Rock, PA

I would like to reply to some of your comments about North Country. When you ask "for what" the wait was for it was most likely a wait for someone to have enough time to wait on you not neccesarily for a table. Staffing is an odd thing in the restaurant business, you can have 10 slow sundays in a row and then out of the blue get buried in business on the 11th sunday. IDs is an age old argument and the law in most states requires you to have an ID on your person to drink even if you are 110 years old or God, in which case you really should have an ID. Dont blame the waitress for the snafu, blame your government and get rid of the drinking age altogether. To put it in perspective last night in the French restaurant I work in I carded a 49 year old woman and Wegmans Grocery store cards everyone period, Thank You NY State! I am afraid I must agree with you on the point about the owner or manager being called to your assistance. Hopefully that person would have stood behind the wait person 100% and enforced the ID policy but you have at least gotten to speak with that person. I have waited tables for about 30 years and have worked in Restaurants for 38 years. My policy is this. If the service really sucks-no tip. Why? The person providing service relies on their tips to make a living and if they are good support them if they are bad starve them and make them look for more lucrative work. In the long run it does the owner and future customers a favor. In closing, I do like the style of your review because you gave a lot of information and I believe you told the truth in all cases. I am new to pubcrawler and hope my reviews will come up to your seemingly professional standards.

Great Good N/A Great Great

Establishment: Outer Banks Brewing Station, Kill Devil Hills, NC

Gordon was behind the bar and he was very attentive and informative. We thought the beer was great my favorite was the porter and my friends the barley wine. Normally I do not like barley wine but this one did not seem typical. I enjoyed the fruityness and sweetness of this barley wine.

Lousy So So N/A Good Lousy

Establishment: Hilltop Brewing Company and Restaurant, Virginia Beach, VA

first review didnt take for some reason so i'll try again. Bartender was very bad but waitress was very good, quite friendly and attentive. Hopefully she will get a job some place better than this. The beer was lacked carbonation and body. It seemed like the brewing vessels were for show and the beer was made with water and syrups
