The beer is very well done and true to style. All 7 beers that I have tried were great to awesome. The food was pretty good, but not as good as the beer! |

Pils and Hefeweizen were outstanding. IPA and Maibock excellent. Stout and Kolsch very good. Food was very good. Food was a little pricey for a brewpub. Excellent brewpub. Top 25% of all I have visited. |

We went 2 couples with 6 kids on a Saturday late afternoon and the environment was great. The kids just lounged around on the four couches in front of the big screen TV and watched the olympics while we tried a couple of samplers and had some appetizers (it was like the kids weren't even there). They ate and then went right back to the couches. The beer was excellent. We tried 4 seasonals (? Barley Wine, Helles, ? Coffee Stout, and Cask ESB) with an IPA. All were very, very good. The coffee stout was very strong and a sample was enough. I also tried the APA which was very good. The pierogies were pretty good and my wife had some type of wrap. The kids wolfed down there kids meals of linguine with butter, Fish and Chips, etc. and they seemed to have an enjoyable time. The only downfall was I had a sense of smell that we were entering a bowling alley when we walked through the door and the place seemed to have alot of cigar/cigarette smoked look to it, not as clean as most brewpubs that I have been to. I think that Penn has a smaller selection but the beers are a notch better along with the food. This place (Foundry)caters much better to the kids than Church Brew Works and Foundry beer seems a notch above Church. The prices for food are much more reasonable than at Church. I will try Valhalla next, but for me now it's #1 Penn Brewery, #2 Foundry Ale Works, #3 Church Brew Works. All are very good however and you should try them all. |

Stopped by with the family (kids (5,7,8)) , close to 8 PM. Kids complained that the music was too loud, but we were near that time of the night. $65 for 3 kids meals and 2 adults, 2 pints, brewski. The Winter Helles had a hint of Anchor XMAS with Nutmeg, excellent seasonal. IPA was very good. Stout and Nut Brown were roasted and good, but seemed a little thin at the end. Light Lager was good for its class. Very Good overall brewpub and I look forward to visiting after a hard day on the slopes. I've never seen a slab of fish as big as the one they brought me for my fish and chips. That thing lasted two full meals. |
