66 taps and a load of bottles! This is one of the best places in NYC for good beer. The place is new and nice, and they have a list of brews that's easy to navigate. When in on a Saturday night, we've walked out it't been so mobbed - 3 deep at the bar. In the afternoon, though, when it's not so busy, it's a very nice place to be. Guinness Stew is excellent. Sent back my Reuben last time though - it was 80% sauerkraut, 10% meat and 0% swiss and just on rye bread, not grilled. The Turkey & Brie sandwich on French bread has been great, as is the Beer Companion. |

You don't go here for the food - you go for the BEER! They keep a great selection of draft and bottled beers, including a rotating brew on the hand-pump. The bar is staffed with people who know their beers, and can make a suggestion, if needed. They keep 200+ bottles on hand, and there's an up-to-date listing to browse. This location seems heavier on German beers and local brews (from in and around PA) than the Pittston location (about 20 miles away) which, I'm told, has a larger selection of Belgians. You'll always see Chimay, Delerium Tremens, Dogfish Head, Victory, Weierbacher, Fullers, Lindemans, Unibreau and something you've never heard of. There's a gift shop with a cooler for to-go's where you can make your own six pack (or buy that giant bottle of Arrogant Bastard if you have it in you). The walls are covered with a collection of pictures, posters, Americana and other stuff that's amazing. |

A really good beer bar in Hell's Kitchen near Port Authority. It's kind of unassuming, with a neon sign that says "BAR" hanging in front. We stopped in here because the Blind Tiger is still waiting on their liquor license, and this is a sister bar. We will definitely be back. They have a nice selection of imports and domestic micros, and the bartender was extremely pleasant and knowledgable. (Have a Rochefort 10.) Mixed crowd of locals and beer geeks. Highly recommended. |

The service here can be a little bit casual, as they seem to be a take time serving unfamiliar faces. Beer selection is great, though it seems that someone needs to run down to the cellar if you order anything unusual, so be prepared to wait. Still a good place to go for some serious brews.
Disclaimer:
1. Bring cash - Recently, the credit card machine seems to be down every time I go here.
2. Don't expect a working lock on the bathroom door. Do your business elsewhere.
