Good So So N/A Good Good

Establishment: Oldenberg Brewery, Fort Mitchell, KY

Hit the site in the Cincy airport, so selection was very limited. The Pale Ale was at best not good, pretty much thin, flavorless and unremarkable. The Brown Ale, on the other hand, was very, very good. Worth a stop if you've got some time to kill in the Cincy airport, but not really worth going out of your way for.

Establishment: Rogue Ales / Oregon Brewing and Brewer's on the Bay, Newport, OR

Rogue has the most consistent quality of any microbrew I've ever tried (and I've tried PLENTY). Their brews are second to none. The Dead Guy Ale and Shakespeare Stout are just about perfect.

So So Good Great Good Good

Establishment: Sweetwater Tavern, Merrifield, VA

Very good food, though quite overpriced. Hard to find anything under $10 on the menu, which wouldn't be much of a big deal if the beer was good. Thin, uninspired, and lacking body. The IPA had some pleasing hoppiness, but just didn't have anything resembling a decent texture. The IPA, the Pale Ale, and the Porter were all disappointing; nothing worth going back over unless you want some very expensive (yet quite good) food.

So So Good Good Good So So

Establishment: Rock Bottom Brewery, Arlington, VA

A thin, somewhat bland Pale Ale and an unimpressive Porter. It tastes like a yuppified microbrewery that would be in a mall, which it is. Nothing special about the beer at all and the food certainly wasn't anything exceptional. Unfortunately, a good brewpub is a rare thing in Northern Virginia. Rock Bottom doesn't do anything special, least of all the beer.

Awesome! Awesome! N/A N/A Awesome!

Establishment: Summit Brewing Company, Saint Paul, MN

The Extra Pale Ale is absolutely wonderful and is available seemingly everywhere in the metro area; one of the great things about the Twin Cities is that this lovely beer will be on tap almost anywhere you go. Everything brewed by Summit is excellent.
