I always make a point to visit local brewpubs when I travel and this place is without a doubt, one of my very favorites. The stout is just terrific and when the IPA is on, it is just as good. The atmosphere is what makes it stand out. Nothing real exciting, just friendly people playing pool or darts and just enjoying this unique little place. No live music, no wide screens, just a place to go and enjoy some great beers and a game of darts or pool. And the pool table does slant, but that's part of the ambiance. Check it out, you'll enjoy it. |

Another chain brewery attempting to do what the independents are doing a much better job at. The beers here are no more than so-so. This place caters to those who could take a Bud or a light lager or a red ale and never know the difference or for that matter, care. The place gets jammed on weekends with college drinkers looking for a good time not necessarily a good beer. My advice, walk around the corner to Cap City. Their beers are worth it. |

I often drive from Montgomery County just to enjoy the beers and atmosphere of this great bar. The stout and the IPA are tremendous and are well worth the drive. My chief complaint is that the wonderful outdoor seating area is closed more often than it is open. This is a terrific spot to enjoy a beer and to get away from the very smoky and even more noisy inner bar. Keep the outside open later and this would be close to my favorite bar. |

I am surprised at some of the reviews which found the beer here lousy. I wouldn't go that far but sometimes the beer is less than you would expect. I have been going here since the pub opened and have always found it to be worth the trip from Montgomery County. With a little time, the beers should improve. The menu is good on its face but some of the better "pub grub" items aren't available after a certain time. Expand the menu and work on improving beer quality and this place will be a gem. |

If you think gen x'ers and yuppies thrown together in a small bar won't ruin your appetite for a great beer, then this place is for you. The selection is awesome if you can find your way to the bar. There is some outdoor seating on good nights but even that doesn't help on a Friday or Saturday night. The beers certainly make up for what this place lacks in atmosphere, so drink up. Late night happy hour is unbeatable. |

It is a shame that this Cap City location is doing so poorly. The beers are super but the bar itself is not as inviting, especially with the stiff competition from all sides in downtown Bethesda. If you're going for beers, this place can't be beat. If you're going to atmosphere and entertainment...well, you won't find that here. A little revamping and this place could compete again. Otherwise, it will just flounder. Cap City's eyes were far too big for their stomach unfortunately. |

This place is a beer drinkers dream. I have never seen such a selection. And we're not talking Coors and Bud...these are quality microbrews both local and regional. The entertainment attracts a loyal following but the beers will bring you back. If you love beer, you mustn't miss this place. Also, it's the perfect pre-concert spot for Merriweather Post Pavillion. |

Further proof that the beer craze isn't for everyone. Just because a restaurant calls itself a brewery, does not mean that beer lovers will be pleased. This is a very average restaurant that happens to brew their own beers. The beers are only average and can not compete with many of the outstanding breweries we are blessed with in the DC/Baltimore area. Not worth a second trip. |

The food is good, but the place is more of a pool hall than a restaurant. Also, they close whenever they want to, not when the posted hours indicate. One saturday night, the kitchen was closed at 10:55 although the posted hours said closing was at midnight. Inconsistency like this will disappoint some customers. Also, get a non-smoking section. The place is always polluted with smoke. |

The beer simply can not be beat. Brewer Joe Kalish is simply a master. Recently, a steam beer was on the menu and was as close to perfection as a brewer can get. As was mentioned in other reviews, the upstairs bar has potential to be awesome, but is literally polluted nightly with cigarettes and cigars and something they call live music. Improve this part of the restaurant and this place could be simply the best yet. New ownership could mean trouble though. The menu has been over-hauled (it was needed) and late night happy hour is a thing of the past. |

You can't beat these wings...they are as close to buffalo as you'll get. However, the atmosphere is a little disappointing. The addition of the pool room has brought with it alot of noise and smoke and there is no non-smoking section available in the whole place. My advice...take the wings home and enjoy them where there's no smoke and no loud music and a fight won't break out. |
