Best bar in Ypsilanti, hands down. its got a great atmosphere, very chill and relaxed with a great staff. The food is excellent and priced pretty decent. Located in old Depot Town along side the train tracks, its a perfect alternative to the frat-boy scene of Theos. And free shots every time a train passes is a nice touch.
Like someone else said - if youre looking for a college bar, Theos might be for you. Attracts the typical campus hoochie girls and hard-ass frat boys though which is a big turn off if your looking to just sit and have a few beers with a friends. Cheap specials are the attraction and honestly, thats probably the biggest positive of this place.
my personal favorite bar Downriver. great selection of hundreds of beers along with a typical bar food menu makes this place a fun place to stop by and relax with some friends for the night. unless youre a regular or familiar looking to the staff, dont expect good service. bartenders are usually arrogant and they never seem to have enought waitstaff. all in all though The Oak is a choice bar.
