Big Dog's Brewing Company was Draft House Barn and Casino, Las Vegas, NV
Went to this brewery for the War Dog IPA tapping and had a few other beers as well. The IPA was out of this world. By far the best IPA brewed in Nevada. We got to go on a little tour in back and the brewmaster was very knowledgeable. I was a fan of the War Dog and Dirty Dog, but some of the other beers lacked the luster that these had. A month later I had their Sled Dog Stout and that was phenomenal! They need to work on some of their beers, but overall very good. Also the atmosphere and the especially the food was great! |

I literally signed up to PubCrawler just to vent about how bad this place was. Outside looks great, walking through the bar area looked even better. My wife and I sat down ready for good beer and food and could not have been more disappointed. The beer was ok, I tried the Pilsener and Amber. Neither was a drain pour but I would not drink either ever again. The food ranked among the worst I have ever eaten. I am trying to decide if it is the 1st or 2nd worst place that I ever ate in. The bratwurst/knackwurst looked like plastic toy hot dogs and did not taste much better. My wife got a chicken philo dough wrap, chicken was dry, spinach was sour and the philo dough was the texture of wet cardboard. The single worst thing on either of our plates was a cream corn side that was actually inedible. You physically could not chew the corn down to a texture that your throat would allow you to swallow. Waitress was really nice about the experience and gave us an fyi that the veal dish my wife was originally going to order is actually worse than the chicken slop that she decided on. The mere idea that a dish exists that is worse than what we got will give me nightmares tonight. |

I have been on vacation for three days and this is brewery No. 4 visited in Colorado. So far this is the best beer I have tasted in CO. The red was very tasty, smooth and with nice body. The Stout was very flavorable and very full bodied. Practically a meal by itself. Later at dinner at another place in town, I had the brown ale and it was almost as good as the stout. |

I sampled three beers (red, brown ale, & stout. All had good taste but no body and not much complexety. I went upstairs and drank a red, but was not impressed with either the beer, the sevice or the place, which is very run down. I would skip this place and find somewhere that serves good beer like the Alaskan Amber I has with dinner. |

Establishment:
Big Woods Brewing Company, Nashville, IN
I visited Big Woods for lunch on a Wednesday. When you enter the restaurant you feel like you are in a big log cabin. There are only a dozen or so tables and it is very cozy. The waitress came up immediately and was very pleasant, felt like my mom was serving me. She was also knowledgeable about the beer. I asked for a flight of beers and got six samples. A wheat, a blonde, a red (which was more like a porter), a pale ale and two stouts. The were all great. The wheat was crisp and the pale was exactly what a pale should be - hoppy and malty. The stouts were both great. They tasted like a shot of espresso was put in each one, but the brewer swears no coffee was added. They called one a lighter summmer stout, but I couldn't tell them apart. I had a pulled pork sandwich and my wife had the portebello burger. Food was excellent. This is a great, friendly little place that you have to visit if you are in the area. The surrounding art and antique shops will help make a day of it. |

We did stop again, and were not let down. The place was full of people from this college town. Everyone was having a good time, and respecting others too. Not at all like it can be in our college town which is home to the so-called #1 party school in the USA. Anyhow, we will continue to visit and will only rate again if the quality improves, or (shudder) declines. |

Our second visit to one of our favorite brewpubs. Another great example of adaptive reuse, this time under a megaton crane that was actually used to set the brewing equipment. All was awesome, and the brewmeister's love for his craft was everywhere in evidence by all the award banners on display. We will go back again and again, but will never understand the brewmeister's desire for us customer types to NOT put lemon in his hefeweisse. |

Our second visit to this delightful, busy place. Love to see adaptive reuse, and this is a great example. Chili is to die for. Beer was as good as before, but service was trying. Too many excuses for slow service, and bad ones at that. Probably better to go here when it's not the Christmas Season! |

One large room with very little atmosphere, but a nice view. Only three beers were available, all light-bodied but for an attempt at an Alt. Tasted more like watered down Sam Adams. The best beer was a porter from Southampton Brewery...a guest beer of all things. Food was good as was the service, but certainly not great. |

What planet is the person with grey food from? Seriously I happen to know what a stickler the owner Mike Stone is for fresh ingrediants. He would never allow nor serve any less. It's his mom's actual recipes they make from scratch there on the premises. I have been going here for years. My fellow British friends are often there and think it wonderful as well. I think maybe that second guy got this place confused with Harry's food. Stoneys really does have the best and freshest fish and chips around! Don't miss out because of one confused soul! You'll love it! I do! |

So I came to The Ram in Wheeling. I have had the best service that I have had at restaurant & brewpub in a long time. The selection of beers has also made up my mind. They have a selection of at least 10 different micro brews that they offer at all times. They are also offering $3 pints at ALL TIMES! This is unbelievable to me! The food menu is all over, offering everything for my family. Not only is it family friendly, but a sports bar also that has everything that I'm looking for my family and a night with my friends. Atmosphere and options are perfect. I can't picture a better place & value for anyone! |

This place should do other brewpubs a favor and turn itself into a tshirt shop, or maybe a used clothing store. Lots of good, used clothing on Hilton Head. The island needs a good brewpub, but this place... |

Stopped first in 2005, then again in 2007, and finally this past Jan. A welcome relief from the other on-site places. Great food, beer, and service. Atmosphere is newish, but that doesn't distract from the experience. No wait this time, which for this area is rare. |

Bring from Happy Valley (College Football Heaven), we understand what it must be like trying to eat anywhere in the triangle during BB season the night of a game. But we tried anyhow. Sure. All seats were sold to watch the game between the local college and the college down the road in Durham, in Durham. Too bad. We'll try it again in the off-season. |

Another visit on our way home from a Spring Break trip. Tried "Rock Bottom" first, but quickly realized this was a bad move given the local NBA team had a game that night and the place was right next door. So, back to Southend. This time the beer had much more character, and the food and service was outstanding. Next time no need to go anywhere else. |

Nice place in a great city. Liked the "old" feel of it right on the Market. Beer was second rate to the food. Service was fine until a table of 13 golfers (go figure) showed up, then went downhill quickly. We were told the reason we didn't get any bread was that they were short of it that day. This just after the 13 golfers got at least two loaves. Not good. |

A bunch of us visited a few days after Christmas to take our 89-year-old patriarch there for his birthday. The place was humming, even on a Tuesday, but then it was the Christmas Season and we were in Bethlehem...PA. We'll never forget how this old guy of ours enjoyed a place with so much activity coming from folks nearly a third his age! Anyhow, the CH47, ESB, Stout were wonderful. Especially the CH47. The disappointment was the Pumpkin Ale served in a bottle, but then why would you want beer to taste like pumpkins anyhow? Food was wonderful, too. Great adaptive reuse of a former department store. Good job, Fegley's! |

Been here many times. The beer is always the same quality...Awesome", but the food can be spotty. EG, last week I ordered the Brewmeister's Steak. A ribeye with a wild mushroom sauce made with their Penn Dark. I wish the sauce hadn't been so thick so it would have been easier to cut around all the fat and grissle on the cut. But, I've been here that the food's been "Awesome" too. Wish the food could be as consistantly "Awesome" as the beer and atmosphere. It truly does seem like you're in Germany. |
